SPRING AT THE MARKET

Today's market haul from the Tremont Farmers' Market is pictured above.

Along with spring, a few new vendors have sprouted up...

I found delicious new products like peanut, cashew and almond butters as well as sausages made of local pork and duck. There were crisp Braeburn apples grown by Doug Woolf at Morning Dew Orchards (who was also sporting a pretty spiffy new diesel-powered Sprinter van); tender spring kale, chard and salad greens from Morningside Farm; baby carrots, beets and herbs from Por-Bar Farm; lovely spices from The Spicehound; good friends; and adorable puppies. What more could you want from a farmers' market, really?

The Tremont Farmers' Market happens each Tuesday in Lincoln Park from 4-7pm. Hope to see you there sometime!
