Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

It’s hard to believe that another season is winding down already. It’s gone by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we were enjoying summer’s first strawberries. Now we’re stocking the pantry and simmering soup.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little FarmShare journey. My hope for all FarmShare subscribers is that you discover just how delicious and fun it can be to eat along with the seasons; that you taste something new and delicious along the way; and that maybe, just maybe, you also find a deeper connection to your food and where it comes from. I’ve enjoyed getting to know each of our subscribers this season and introducing you to our local farmers and the fabulous foods they produce.

By choosing local, you’re helping Northeast Ohio’s local food economy to grow and thrive. There’s never been such an exciting time to be a local eater. From countryside to cityscape, talented new farmers and food producers are popping up all over Ohio. They’re bringing to market a bounty of amazingly fresh, unique, and delicious foods that keep us healthy and happy and sustain our local economy and communities. I'm thankful you’ve chosen to be a part of the local food movement and hope you’ll continue to seek out and support local producers whenever you can.

As things quiet down a bit, I'm looking forward to spending more time on this blog and in the FarmShare Kitchen. I'll be sharing favorite my fall and winter recipes and local food-flavored news here throughout the cold months ahead. Weather permitting, I also hope to be scheduling periodic FarmShare deliveries throughout the winter months as well. Stay tuned for details.

Thank you again for a wonderful 2011 season. Be well!
