Entrepreneur Eats Local

It seems that nearly every journalist in the country spent their summer vacation writing about local food. A bounty of beautiful images and stories about the local food movement grace the pages of nearly every magazine, website, and blog lately. Cleveland has attracted its share of the press too.

In July, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with writer, Bruce Schoenfeld whose article, How the Farm-to-Table Movement is Helping Grow the Economy, was just published in the October issue of Entrepreneur magazine. Schoenfeld's piece compares the local food scene in two of my favorite cities, Cleveland and Seattle, and explores the opportunities that locally grown food is creating for restaurants, farmers, and other businesses.

As a result of my brief quote in this article, FarmShare has connected with a handful of like-minded entrepreneurs from around the country who are interested in launching similar local food-oriented businesses in their own communities.

Thank you to Bruce and the folks at Entrepreneur for sharing Cleveland's evolving local food story. And bravo to our good friends at Art Farm, Ohio City FarmBay Branch Farm, Fire Food & Drink, Flying Fig, and The Chef's Garden (all mentioned in the article) as well as the countless farmers, markets, producers, chefs, cooks, eaters and others who are making Cleveland such a delicious place to live, eat, and thrive.
